The Opportunity:
We're seeking an experienced Creative Talent Acquisition Manager based in Los Angeles to build and manage our writer recruitment pipeline. You'll be responsible for discovering and vetting exceptional storytelling talent who can create viral, emotionally engaging narratives for our young adult audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source & Scout: Identify talented writers across multiple platforms (Wattpad, film schools, writers' rooms, online communities)
- Build Talent Pipeline: Create a consistent flow of 50-100 qualified writers per month
- Screen & Test: Develop and manage our writer testing process for story quality and cultural fit
- Relationship Management: Build relationships with writing communities, film schools (USC, UCLA, Chapman), and creative agencies
- Industry Networking: Attend LA entertainment events, writers' meetups, and film school showcases
- Data-Driven Recruitment: Track metrics on writer performance and optimize sourcing strategies
You're Perfect If You Have:
- 3+ years recruiting creative talent (writers, screenwriters, or content creators preferred)
- LA Entertainment Network: Existing relationships with film schools, writers' guilds, or creative communities
- Digital Content Knowledge: Understanding of YouTube, viral content, and youth culture
- Young Adult Genre Familiarity: Knowledge of YA fiction, teen drama, and what resonates with 13-21 demographic
- Proven Track Record: Successfully filled 20+ creative positions with demonstrable quality hires
Ideal Background:
- Previously recruited for: Animation studios, streaming platforms, YouTube channels, or digital media companies
- Experience with: Netflix, Hulu, BuzzFeed, Vox Media, Disney, Nickelodeon, or similar
- Bonus: Connections to similar story-driven content companies

Performance Expectations:

Required Deliverables for Application:

- Network Proof: List 3 creative communities/platforms where you have existing relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Communications, Film, or related field
- Experience with ATS systems and recruitment analytics
- Bilingual capabilities (Spanish a plus for international talent sourcing)
- Understanding of freelance creative contracts and rates
