As a Financial Accountant with Wells Fargo At Home, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing consultation to more experienced management on matters related to financial accounting
  • Performing complex bookkeeping, financial statement, and regulatory reporting activities
  • Collecting and reviewing financial data for financial and regulatory reporting
  • Reviewing data from general managers, unit reports, and various financial systems to ensure accuracy
  • Preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and certificates
  • Analyzing projects related to financial accounting methods, procedures, or systems
  • Performing ongoing financial control functions by internal control principles
  • Providing practical advice and training to individuals
  • Providing support for compliance and risk management requirements
  • Collaborating and consulting with stakeholders on the business

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, you must have:

  • 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, analysis, financial reporting, accounting, or risk reporting, or equivalent demonstrated by one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of SEC/regulatory quarterly filings; Fiserv knowledge/understanding
  • Implementing a COSO-based internal control review on Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Military intelligence or analytical experience, including operational management, project management, mission development management, and financial management
  • 1+ year reporting in the credit card industry; knowledge of business/commercial loan products
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Main 4 / regional public accounting / financial services
  • Intermediate Essbase / Smartview, advanced Microsoft Excel with VLOOKUP / pivot tables
  • Strong knowledge/experience with general ledger reconciliation and automation tools
  • Independent judgment / creative problem-solving to resolve / identify / understand downstream impacts in complex matrix environments
  • Knowledge / understanding of financial statements or US GAAP preparation components with the ability to translate / summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting/reporting/internal control issues
  • Ability to interpret and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a remote environment
  • Familiarity with Wells Fargo's financial systems and processes
  • Advanced degree in accounting or finance
  • Professional certifications, such as CMA or CFA
